Every story leaves one untold. I listen for those, and then I write them.
I always have religiously believed in the power of words.
Act I · About
01About
From Catania.
Writing in Dublin.
I was born in 1990 in Catania, the beating heart of Sicily, and I have never had brothers or sisters, so my assumption is that my father really gave it all in one go and decided to merge all the energy of potential other children into one: me.
Life has never been easy, and I am not going to claim that I'm the only one who has had a difficult childhood and so on. None of the sort. However, it is exactly because of those hardships, heartbreaks, failures, and falls that today I have mastered skills beyond my imagination.
I also have never assumed or presumed to be a gentleman. I've tried many times, and I do love being elegante, but gentlemen are the ones that in a war get riddled with bullets, so I have avoided that path and preferred my own. The first part of it has been annoyingly normal. The second part is just starting, here in Dublin, and I can't wait to show you how it goes.
What I write refuses to sit still: fiction, essays for the Wild Cards world, and lately scripts for the screen. I speak twelve languages and write in several of them. Genre has never held me for long, and what I chase is the moment a reader forgets they are reading.
If you're reading these words, it means you have met me or even just read one of my stories. Those words are as much mine as they are yours, and I hope they will show you that there's more than just black and white in this life.

A prophecy outlives the tyrant who commissioned it. The soldier bound to it does not get that luxury. Sophocles in deep space, and it ends the way Sophocles ends.
Written for the official Wild Cards blog.
Dissociative identity as both power and affliction, traced from Cap'n Trips through Marvel's Legion and Sentry.
What Fortunato's rise and fall look like when you read them beside the Iliad.
I also write for the screen, and I will send scripts on request.
